Seaside Cottage Whimsy

There is just something I like about this tablescape-it's elegant but whimsical at the same time.

I've been wanting to try something different with my cake stand. I think I'll give this a try~

This charming "Sea Horse" tassle was created by the lovely Selia~Check out her blog when you have a moment, you won't be disappointed!! {Edited to add: She even gives directions on how to make one.}
P.s. Happy Thanksgiving y'all!!!

Home Office Makeover

Blah! My house needs some color...a pick me up...something to generate some "life"...energy!! I'm starting with my office "nook"~

All the changes are inspired by these pictures-I'm taking elements from all of them and incorporating each idea into a one-of-a-kind look....hopefully!! :)

{Coastal Living- hint: the blue cabinet.}

I love that pink fridge. I almost rented an apartment once, a long time ago, that had all pink appliances. It was downtown and over top of a photography studio. My "Ex" didn't like it...Hmm...I wonder why? ;)

{Rhonda- hint: the shelves & chair fabric}

{ A random website photo-hint: the shells and the color pink, of course!! :)}

{Coastal Living- hint: the bamboo blind}

Here's a sneak peek of some materials I've gathered so far...Thats all I can show you for right now. I'll post pictures when I'm finished.

Pink Velvet & Seashells

Thanks everyone for the uplifting inspiration!! Between your wonderful words of advice and a trip to the beach today, I'm feeling refreshed and inspired. It was the first trip since we've moved back here...Ans as soon as I got a whiff of the sea air, I knew I was home. I'm right where I belong...Near the ocean. Funny thing is, I don't even swim-:) But I can't live without it.

This particular beach is about 60 mi. West of us. We went there this morning and then decided to head down the coast and we found ourselves in St. Petersburg. It's been a long time since I've been to St. Pete 3 hours later and OMG!! It is row to row condo all along the beach. I'm not even sure if there is enough room for a person to walk between them, they're so crammed together. It's sad really.

I went searching through the "Coastal Living" website and found a few inspiring pictures that are coastal, but not "beachy", per say...

"....little pink houses for you and me..."

A mermaid grotto? :)

The uber vintage and very worn kitchen-Don't ya love it?

The office-I want this house!!!! :)

P.s. I never did find any seashells nor did we ever find the beach in St. Pete. Odd, I know, but we figure it's an excuse to make another trip!!
Oh yeah, and as for the pink velvet...I mentioned it to my husband, and he said "what about it?" I said, "that's what's missing in my life!!"

Theater anyone?

"Muvico" at "City Place" in West Palm Beach.
Have you ever seen a movie theater that looked, well, pretty?
The interior of this place is absolutely beautiful. I haven't seen another theater like it since.

Part of West Palm Beach's downtown revitalization included the outdoor areas, that can be seen in this picture, as well as many, many stores, such as Macy's and The Cheesecake Factory.
Ever since I left WPB, I've been feeling homesick. I just can't find the culture or lifestyle that I'm used to.

Everywhere I've lived since, which has been teeny-tiny towns, do not have the culture, the shopping, or the dining that West Palm Beach afforded. I don't mean to whine and complain, and we left for work reasons, but it doesn't change the fact that I miss it. I think I'm going through a mid-life crisis (again) and well, I'm trying to find something, anything, remotely familiar to what I'm used to and I can't. At first I had to try to adapt to small town Georgia, now I'm trying to adapt to small town Florida.

I think I'm going to take a brief hiatus from blogging while I gather my bearings and try to find my place in this world, again!!
I'd rather not blog when I'm feeling this way. But I will stop in from time to time to bid everyone well-wishes and a joyous holiday season~

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas

A jolly Mrs. Claus has prepared for us some sweets, would you like one?

We can wrap presents while we munch on cookies~

Can't decide on a color scheme for your tree this year? How about one big one, and a couple mini's?

Try not to get tangled in the lights~

Don't forget to leave Elf Food out, too~

Santa will be coming soon~

{Images: Chelsea Lane-Alabama...they have an online catalog, too!}
